Underoath
.Underoath ist eine US-amerikanische Band, die oft dem christlichen Metalcore und Screamo zugerechnet wird. Die Mitglieder der Band stammen aus Tampa, Florida (USA).
Nach der Gründung 1998 durch Sänger Dallas Taylor veröffentlichte die Band 1999 ihr erstes Album Act Of Depression. Die damalige Besetzung bestand aus Gitarrist Tim McTague, Schlagzeuger Aaron Gillespie und Keyboarder Christopher Dudley. Ursprünglich spielte die Band Death Metal. Im Laufe der Zeit machte Underoath jedoch mehrere Besetzungs- und Stilwechsel durch. Mit The Changing Of Times schlug die Band so eine metalcorelastigere Richtung ein, während das später veröffentlichte Album They're Only Chasing Safety auch starke Emo-Einflüsse besitzt. In dem letztveröffentlichen Album Define The Great Line wird dieser Stil fortgeführt.

Trotzdem gibt es vereinzelte Meinungsabweichungen unter den Fans betreffend Gläubigkeit der Bandmitglieder. Spencer Chamberlain sagte auch in Interviews, dass er nicht will, dass man Underoath als eine 'nur' Christliche Band sieht.
